We are rarely hit by major accidents or disasters in Denmark - but when we are, the authorities can activate S!RENEN.
S!RENEN is Denmark’s mobile-based public warning system. If you are in an area where many people are exposed to danger, you can receive a warning directly on your phone.
S!RENEN has a distinct sound and vibration that clearly differs from text messages and push notifications.
It is not an app, and you don't need to download anything.
If you hear S!RENEN on your mobile phone, you should follow the instructions immediately: STOP. READ. REACT.
S!RENEN is a supplement intended to other warning systems.
S!RENEN is based on a technology called cell broadcast. The warning is transmitted via telephone masts to specific areas without requiring an internet connection.
The signal is one-way only so the authorities do not receive data about recipients’ mobile phones and location.
